Testing Before Shipping, Not After a Claim Tensile · Density · Friction · Chemical Resistance

Braided packing performance is determined by fiber, braid density, and impregnation — three variables that can only be controlled if they are measured. Kaxite’s lab tests each production lot before dispatch, and the resulting report becomes part of the batch documentation.

Custom Impregnation & Fiber Blends

Standard PTFE, graphite, and silicone impregnations cover most pump and valve duties. For aggressive media, high shaft speeds, or specific friction targets, the lab evaluates custom formulations against the buyer’s operating envelope.

  • PTFE dispersion for chemical resistance and low friction
  • Graphite for thermal conductivity and high-temperature service
  • Silicone and specialty lubricants for break-in control
  • Fiber blend review for abrasion, pH, and temperature limits

What the Buyer Receives

For each qualified specification, the buyer can receive test data tied to the production batch, not a generic catalog value. This matters when the packing is going into a documented maintenance or shutdown scope.

  • Batch-level test report with measured values
  • Link to EN 10204 3.1 certificate when specified
  • Technical data sheet with operating limits
  • Formulation notes for repeat orders

Documents Available for Buyer Review

  • Sample batch-level test report with measured values
  • Formulation review sheet for custom impregnation projects
  • Technical data sheet with temperature, pressure, and pH limits
  • Cross-reference to EN 10204 3.1 certificate when specified

Buyer Questions This Page Answers

What is tested on each production lot?

Tensile strength, density, friction, and chemical resistance. The results are recorded per lot and become part of the batch documentation, not a one-time catalog value.

Can the lab develop a custom impregnation for a specific media or speed?

Yes. Send operating temperature, pressure, media, shaft speed, and the failure mode of the current packing. The lab reviews the formulation route — PTFE, graphite, silicone, or a blend — against that envelope.

Is the test report tied to the batch that ships?

Yes. The test report is linked to the production batch identification, and can be paired with an EN 10204 3.1 certificate when the order requires it.

Have a specification that standard packing cannot meet?

Send the operating conditions and the lab team will review the formulation route.
